The coordinates behind this table

Doha stands at roughly 25.29 degrees north, 51.53 degrees east, on the eastern side of the Qatari peninsula. Every figure above is generated from that pair of numbers for the current date. It is an astronomical calculation rather than a relay of any particular mosque's loudspeaker, which matters when you compare it against what you actually hear: most congregations leave a gap between the adhan and the iqama, and the length of that gap is a local decision, not a difference in the underlying arithmetic.

Because a large majority of Qatar's residents live in or immediately around the capital, this page ends up serving as the country's working reference. The other municipalities have their own pages, but the differences between them are small enough that a Doha table rarely misleads anyone inside the country's borders.

The method, briefly

Qatar's national parameters set dawn at an eighteen-degree solar depression and place Isha a fixed ninety minutes after Maghrib. Asr follows the majority shadow rule. One consequence is worth repeating locally, because it shapes how Doha evenings run. Since Isha is an interval rather than a twilight angle, the space between the sunset call and the night prayer is identical in December and in June. Anything built around that gap — a meal, a drive across town, a class after Maghrib — holds its shape all year. In countries that assign Isha its own angle, it does not.

Sunrise, and a point people get wrong

Sunrise appears in the table but is not a prayer. It marks the end of the window in which Fajr can still be prayed. During Ramadan it is sometimes described as the moment the fast begins, which is not correct — that is Fajr's job, and Fajr comes earlier. Confusing the two costs you the tail of the pre-dawn window in one direction and the validity of a late Fajr in the other.

How much the year moves things at this latitude

Twenty-five degrees north is a moderate latitude. Across a full year, Doha's Fajr travels something in the order of an hour and a half between its earliest point in June and its latest around the turn of the calendar, with Maghrib making a comparable journey in the opposite direction. That is a real shift, enough that a routine set in winter feels wrong by midsummer, but nothing like the compression and stretch that cities in northern Europe contend with. The clock never moves to disguise any of it: Qatar sits on UTC+3 in every month, with no summer-time adjustment, so all the movement in the table belongs to the sun.

Friday in the capital

Jumu'ah replaces Dhuhr for those attending. The adhan is anchored to the calculated Dhuhr shown here, but the start of the khutbah and the length of the sermon belong to the imam, and the larger Doha congregations fill well before the call goes out. Traffic toward the main mosques builds through the late morning, which is the practical reason many people leave earlier than the timetable alone would suggest. Anyone praying at home, including women who are not obliged to attend, prays Dhuhr at its ordinary listed time.

Ramadan in a city that runs late

Commercial and social life in Doha shifts heavily into the hours after Maghrib during Ramadan, and the fixed ninety-minute interval means the sequence from iftar through Isha to taraweeh keeps the same shape every night of the month. What does move is the fasting window itself. Fajr and Maghrib both drift by a noticeable margin between the first day of the month and the last, in a direction that depends on where Ramadan is sitting in the solar year. Checking the monthly view once at the start is more reliable than assuming the opening day's figures will hold for thirty.

How much of Qatar this table honestly covers

Not much of the country is far from here. From the southernmost municipality to the northernmost is well under a hundred kilometres, and the whole peninsula occupies a narrow band of longitude. In practice that puts every Qatari town within about a minute of Doha on any of the five prayers, and usually well inside that.

So if you are in Al Rayyan or Lusail and this is the page already open on your phone, you are not doing anything wrong by using it. The separate municipal pages exist because the coordinates genuinely differ and there is no reason to serve an approximation when the exact figure costs nothing to compute — not because a Doha table would lead anyone in the country into error.

If your app disagrees with the mosque

Most disagreements come down to a single setting. An app left on a Muslim World League or Karachi default is not using Qatar's dawn angle or its interval-based Isha, and it will drift from the boards in Doha's mosques by a few minutes in one direction or the other. Change the calculation to the Qatari standard before concluding that either the app or the mosque is broken. If a difference survives that change, it is iqama practice rather than arithmetic.
